Welcome to SMB DISTRIBUTION CENTER, INC.. By engaging our transportation and logistics services, you're entering into an agreement that ensures the safety and efficient movement of your cargo. But what does that really mean for your liability?
1. Cargo Responsibility
All goods entering our Canastota, NY facility must be clearly documented. We're responsible for transit from point A to B, but the shipper must guarantee the legality and safety of the contents.
2. Forwarding Fees
Standard net 30 terms apply unless otherwise negotiated. We value the 17 years of trust we've built, so we ask that communications regarding payment delays happen immediately.
We don't just move boxes; we manage assets. The standard liability for loss or damage is capped according to national freight transportation guidelines, typically calculated by weight unless a higher value is declared and additional insurance is secured. It's a temporary solution to a complex problem, but it works. // HACK: temporary solution until full legal text integration.
Warehousing & Storage
Our warehouses for freight transportation are climate-controlled and monitored 24/7. However, SMB DISTRIBUTION CENTER, INC. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as loss of profit. Have you reviewed your specific cargo insurance policy lately?
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of scheduled pick-up. Failure to notify our dispatch team results in a flat handling fee to cover logistics staging.
